Grants of up to £3,000 Available for Grassroots Community Sports Groups (England)

Supermarket retailer Aldi has announced that its Sports Fund is now open to applications from community sports organisations in England, with grants of up to £3,000 available. The fund helps local clubs cover essential costs and widen participation across all ages and abilities.

Since launching in Scotland in 2016, the fund has awarded more than £500,000 to over 650 grassroots sports clubs. By expanding the initiative into England, Aldi aim to help even more clubs support their communities.

Eligible applicants must run sporting activities for the local community. Organisations can apply if they are:

  • a community-focused sports club
  • a registered Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC)
  • a school, college or educational organisation
  • a registered charity providing sporting opportunities
  • a Scout or Guide group
  • an Armed Forces charitable service
  • a Community Interest Company (CIC)

Funding can be used to cover essential costs such as equipment, coaching, kits, facility hire and training programmes.

Email sportsfund@aldi.co.uk with no more than 200 words explaining what makes your club great, how the funding would be used and the difference it would make to your local community. The closing date for applications is 31 August 2026.
