Grants of up to £25,000 Available to Improve Community Facilities Programme (Wales)

The Welsh Government is inviting applications to its Community Facilities Programme, which offers capital funding to improve community spaces across Wales.

The scheme is designed to support projects that enhance local facilities and strengthen community cohesion. Typical uses include refurbishing buildings, upgrading amenities, or creating new spaces that serve a wide range of residents.

Community and voluntary sector organisations, including registered charities, social enterprises, and local community groups, are eligible to apply. Applicants must show that projects are community-led and involve partnership working with other organisations. Groups must also have a governing document, a bank account with two unrelated signatories, and transparent financial reserves.

Two levels of funding are available. Small grants range from £5,000  to £25,000. Larger grants range from £25,001 to £300,000. The small grant programme is currently open, while the larger fund will reopen on 1 October 2025 for expressions of interest.

The Welsh Government emphasises that projects should deliver long-term community benefit and demonstrate sustainability.

Applications to the small grants programme can be submitted at any time.
