Grant News
Grants and interest-free loans are available to small registered charities providing affordable homes for vulnerable people in need in England, Scotland, Wales, the Channel Islands & Isle of Man.
The Quaker Housing Trust (QHT) provides support through two separate programmes to help housing projects that meet the needs of people undergoing transitions in their lives, such as those seeking asylum, recovering from addiction, leaving prison, or moving from domestic abuse.
Two restricted funding programmes are available:
- Best Practice Grants - grants of up to £6,000 to support projects in their early stages of development. (There are three areas which can be funded: the Environmental Assessment Grant; the Feasibility Study Grant; and the Quaker Asset Grant)
- Main Grants and Loans Programme - awards a mixture of grants and loans up to £50,000 (with maximum grants of £20,000) to fund housing projects
Priority will be given to:
- projects in areas geographically underrepresented in our previous grant applications (East of England, Wales, Southwest of England)
- organisations working with people with No Recourse to Public Funds
- organisations working with minoritised communities
- organisations working with people leaving prison
Organisations applying to the Main Grants Programme must first submit an expression of interest by the 29th January 2026. Shortlisted organisations will be invited to submit a full application by the 26th March 2026.
For this funding round, Trust is particularly interested in receiving applications from projects supporting older people.
The deadline for applications for Best Practice Grants is the 26th March 2026.
