The Charity Service is an independent, not-for-profit organisation based in Manchester. It supports charitable giving and administers grants to help individuals and community organisations across the region.
The organisation is currently accepting applications for two funding programmes supporting disadvantaged communities, children and young people in Greater Manchester and neighbouring areas.
The Greater Manchester Grants programme supports charities and community organisations delivering projects that address social isolation, help prevent homelessness, and support vulnerable families and children.
Grants of up to £3,000 are available, although most awards are around £1,000.
Registered charities and voluntary organisations can apply if they have been operating for at least three years and have annual expenditure of less than £1 million. Funding can be used towards project costs, capital purchases and core organisational costs.
Applications for grants of less than £1,000 are considered on a rolling basis. Applications for larger amounts are reviewed by a grants committee.
The next deadline is 4:00 pm on 9 October 2026.
The Chronicle Cinderella Home Fund supports children and young people under the age of 25 who are sick, disabled or experiencing disadvantage.
Grants of up to £1,000 are available for individuals, while groups can apply for up to £3,000. Most grants are around £1,000.
Funding can be used for purposes such as respite care, educational trips and group activities.
Applicants must live in Greater Manchester. A sponsor, such as a social worker or teacher, must submit applications for individual grants.
The next deadline is 4:00 pm on 9 October 2026.
