A new £1 million Connect Fund has been launched to strengthen civic links between Northern Ireland and Great Britain. It will support organisations in tackling shared challenges and seizing opportunities through innovative partnerships and knowledge exchange.

To qualify, proposals must directly benefit Northern Ireland communities. Activities may take place in either Northern Ireland or Great Britain, provided Northern Ireland stakeholders are involved.

Participating organisations can expect:

  1. Significant funding support: Grants from £300 up to £50,000, with £500,000 available in 2025/26 and £500,000 in 2026/27.
  2. Enhanced East–West collaboration: Long-term partnerships to address digital inclusion, public health, environmental resilience, and more.
  3. Capacity building & knowledge exchange: Sharing best practices to boost innovation and organisational capability.
  4. Increased international profile: Showcasing commitment to civic engagement and sustainable development.
  5. Strategic networking: Connecting with civic actors, funders, and policymakers across Europe and beyond.

Projects must involve a Great Britain partner, though standalone activities (e.g., conference attendance) may be exempt.
