Funding for Innovative and Ambitious Entrepreneurs (Scotland)

Scottish EDGE, which is a funding initiative aimed at supporting Scotland’s innovative and ambitious entrepreneurs,  has launched a new initiative called Regional EDGE, aimed at broadening the reach of their support to businesses across Scotland. The programme, backed by £400,000 of Scottish Government funding, will be split across four regions: Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, Dundee and Angus, Perth and Kinross, and the Highlands and Islands.

Regional EDGE offers a competitive process with a total of 20 awards available. Each region will have five winners, with one top award of £50,000 (70% loan/30% grant split), two £15,000 grants, and two £10,000 grants. The purpose of this grant is to encourage participation from businesses in regions that may not have previously engaged with EDGE, while strengthening relationships with regional partners who possess valuable local expertise.

The competition is currently open for applications, with a deadline of 2pm on 20th January 2025. Businesses across Scotland, particularly those in the specified regions, are eligible to apply.

This initiative complements Scottish EDGE's main competition, which offers funding of up to £100,000 for early-stage companies and social enterprises across all sectors.

To apply for Regional EDGE, interested businesses should contact their respective regional delivery partners: Opportunity North East, Elevator, GrowBiz, or Highlands and Islands Enterprise.
