£75,000 Grants Available for Charities Addressing Racial Inequity (England & Wales)

The Lloyds Bank Foundation for England and Wales has launched its Racial Equity Programme, offering unrestricted grants totalling £75,000 over three years(£25,000 per year)  to eligible charities and Community Interest Companies (CICs). This initiative aims to support organisations led by and working with individuals experiencing economic inequity due to their race or ethnicity.

Applicants must be registered charities or CICs based in England and Wales, operating outside of London to qualify. Organisations should have an annual income between £25,000 and £500,000 and be led by the communities they serve. Specifically, at least 75% of directors or trustees and 50% of staff should self-identify as belonging to the communities supported.

Prospective applicants are encouraged to take an initial eligibility quiz available on the Foundation's website. Following this, organisations can submit their applications online. A live webinar is scheduled for April 3, 2025, to provide further insights into the programme, including eligibility and shortlisting criteria. The deadline for applications is the 29th May 2025, with successful applicants notified by the 3rd October 2025.

Beyond financial assistance, the Foundation offers tailored development support to strengthen organisational capacity and resilience. This includes resources aimed at building the knowledge, skills, and capabilities of staff and trustees.

While the programme is open to organisations across England and Wales, it specifically excludes those operating within London. However, the Foundation has allocated £1 million for charities in London and is considering funding options for these organisations.
