Grant News
Charities and Community Amateur Sports Clubs throughout the South East (excluding London & Greater London) can apply for grants of between £5,001 and £30,000 through the Peter Harrison Foundation Positive Futures for Children and Young People grant scheme.
The grant scheme aims to support projects that improve the lives of children and young people who are:
- disabled, chronically or terminally ill
- facing mental health challenges
- at risk of crime, truancy or addiction
- at risk of homelessness or who are homeless
Due to the high demand for funding, the Trustees have decided to focus their limited resources on those who live in the top 40% of areas of deprivation (Indices of Multiple Deprivation deciles 1-4). Work in the top 10% of the most deprived areas (IMD decile 1) is their highest priority.
Applicants are advised to ensure they meet the new revised eligibility and funding criteria before starting an application.
The funding will support capital, revenue or project funding for up to three years.
Previously funded organisations include:
- The Douglas Bader Foundation which received a grant of £5,000 to purchase new prosthetic arms and attachments for children and young people
- Enable Activity which was awarded a grant of £18,000 to support an employability programme for young people with learning disabilities and autism
- The Tim Henman Foundation which received a grant of £10,000 towards the core costs of delivering free, year-round adapted sports and activity coaching for children
The next closing date for applications is the 1st April 2025.
