Grants of up to £10,000 available to Increase Cycling and Walking (West Midlands)

Grants of up to £10,000 are available for community organisations and registered charities to support initiatives that promote cycling and walking. The Active Travel Community Grants, funded by the West Midlands Combined Authority and managed by Sustrans, aim to:

  1. Increase overall cycling levels.
  2. Boost cycling to school.
  3. Enhance cycling to work.

The grants are designed to empower communities within the Cycling for Everyone Wards to implement walking, wheeling, and cycling activities. These activities should benefit the community by increasing access to active travel, particularly targeting the following groups:

  • Children (16 years old and under)
  • Families
  • Women
  • Disabled people
  • Ethnic minority groups

Applications for the Active Travel Community Grants are now open. The deadline for submission is 23:59 on 16th June 2024. Successful applicants will be notified during the week commencing 24th June 2024. All project delivery, monitoring, and reporting must be completed by 15th September 2024.
