Grants of between £1,000 and £2,500 are available for youth-led climate and environmental action projects in the West Midlands.

The Youth Climate Action Fund is funded by Bloomberg Philanthropies and administered by the West Midlands Combined Authority.

The fund aims to support projects led by young people that contribute to a greener, fairer and healthier environment. Projects must be proposed, designed and led by at least two people aged 15 to 24, who must take part in decision-making and oversight.

Funding can support projects focused on one or more of these themes:

  • air quality
  • the circular economy
  • climate adaptation
  • nature

Eligible applicants include:

  • youth-led organisations, such as youth clubs or groups
  • adult-led organisations that support young people
  • sponsor organisations, including educational institutions, museums and community organisations

Projects must be based and delivered in the WMCA area: Birmingham, Coventry, Dudley, Sandwell, Solihull, Walsall and Wolverhampton.

A single organisation may receive up to three grants for separate projects. Applications are made by emailing environment@wmca.org.uk for the information pack and application form.

Applications close at 5pm on 25 September 2026.
