Grants To Support Innovation in Teaching & Learning in Geography in Higher & Secondary Education (UK)

Grants of up to £1,000 are available for projects to research, develop and/or pilot innovations in teaching and learning in any field of geography in higher or secondary education in the UK.

The Royal Geographical Society’s Ray Y Gildea Jr Awards are available to teachers who are currently employed and actively teaching students either at secondary school level, or within the higher education sector.

Examples of previous projects funded by the award include:

  • four geography and science teachers travelling to the Ellsworth Mountains in Antarctica to conduct scientific research;
  • and the development of resources to help secondary school children to better understand the issues faced by the most marginalised communities in the world.

The deadline for applications is 23:59 on the 30th November 2021.
