Grants of up to £2,500 are available for volunteer Tree Wardens and community groups to plant new hedgerows, hedgerow trees and to gap up existing hedgerows in rural and urban areas across England this winter.
As part of the Tree Council’s year-long Close the Gap programme, their Community Hedge Fund is open to applications from registered charities, community groups, incorporated organisations, schools and tree wardens for projects which can take place on private or public land where the community will benefit.
Funding is made available by the Government’s Green Recovery Challenge Fund, and is administered by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
The deadline for applications is midnight on the 8th August 2021.
