The Office for Students (OfS) is launching a Challenge Competition in August 2021 to trial higher education short courses.
£2 million in Government funding will be available to around twenty providers for the development and delivery of new, short courses at higher technical and degree levels, that enable flexible, blended learning alongside existing employment and other commitments. The trial will also test the interest of both students and employers in shorter provision aimed at developing skills needed by employers and the economy.
OfS registered providers in the Approved (fee cap) category will be eligible to bid for funding, though a wider range of partners will be able to participate through consortium arrangements.
Full guidance will be issued in late August 2021.
