Grant News
The Biochemical Society is making funding available to support projects that strengthen inclusion and participation in the molecular sciences.
The EDI and Outreach Grants programme will award grants of up to £1,000 to individuals, groups, charities, and not-for-profit organisations worldwide to support a variety of activities that break down barriers and promote equity, diversity, and inclusion across the field.
This scheme aims to support projects that enhance public understanding of molecular bioscience, remove barriers to participation, elevate underrepresented voices, or foster a more accessible and inclusive environment across education, research, and public engagement.
The Society is particularly interested in applications that address one or more priority areas:
- support for carers in STEM
- address attitudinal barriers towards LGBTQ+ groups
- ensure diverse representation on panels and public platforms
- support for women and minoritised groups in accessing more senior roles
- engagement with minoritised young people and promotion of access to STEM
- improving support and accessibility for people with disabilities
Eligible projects could include community science shows, mentoring schemes, accessible teaching resources, or workshops for underrepresented groups.
Membership of the Society is not required.
All funded activities must be completed by the end of March 2027.
Further details will be made available when the fund opens to applications in the near future.
