Funding to Support Community Projects that Reduce Energy Consumption (UK)

The National Lottery Community Fund (NLCF) has announced that the £8.5 million Climate Action Fund: Energy and Climate will close to applications at 12pm on the 1st March 2024.

The fund is open for applications for community energy projects that can deliver both environmental and societal benefits by reducing household energy use. By addressing household energy use, projects supported will aim to reduce carbon emissions while benefiting people's finances, health, and well-being.

The funding is available to community and voluntary organisations, and the NLCF will accept applications from local partnerships, UK-wide partnerships, and single voluntary or community organisations.

Schools, colleges, and universities can also apply, providing projects benefit and involve the local community.

The total funding available is £8.5 million.

Projects can apply for up to £1.5 million over 2 to 5 years. The minimum grant is £500,000. The aim is to fund around 8-12 projects.

The deadline for applications is 12pm on the 1st March 2024.
