Funding Boost for Small Legal Hub Organisations (UK)

Grants of up to £150,000 over three years are available for expert legal organisations which support and collaborate with other civil society organisations (CSOs) to create expert legal hub organisations that use the law and human rights-based approaches to drive social change across the UK.

The funding will help smaller ‘hub’ organisations to scale their activities to enable them to work with more CSOs to challenge discrimination and disadvantage and create long-term social change.

Applications are particularly encouraged from organisations with:

  • a focus on housing, education and/or social care
  • working in Wales or the English regions outside of Greater London
  • which focus on less used areas of law, for example labour law or under-utilised areas of equality laws such as race equality provisions

The funding can be used for any costs related to hub work, such as lawyers’ fees, salaries, or management costs.

7 to 10 grants will be awarded.

The funding is made available through the Baring Foundation Strengthening Civil Society programme, which will accept expressions of interest until the 30th April 2024.
