Funding for Security & Community Protection Projects (UK)
The Security Industry Authority (SIA) has opened its Grant for Good Causes Fund for 2023-2024.
Through the fund, the SIA distributes money recovered through proceeds of crime confiscation orders to good causes in the UK.
The funding will support registered charities and community interest companies in delivering projects that support one or more of the following:
- public protection in the UK (for example, by preventing terrorism and crime, or protecting vulnerable people and communities)
- people working, or intending to work, in the UK private security industry
- the UK private security industry as a whole
Applications for funding are considered at least once a year.
The closing date for applications is the 18th February 2024.
Successful applicants will be notified by the 22nd March 2024.

Previous projects supported include:
- £12,500 to PTSD Resolution, rehabilitation for former service personnel, many of whom are security personnel suffering mental health issues following active service
- £10,000 to Global Vision Initiative, a Manchester-based community enterprise supporting women and girls from a range of communities
- £7,257 to Samsons Academy for its SIA Training and Certification Courses in Bedford
