Grants of up to £25,000 Available to Improve Community Buildings & Outdoor Spaces (UK)

Up to £25,000 in grants are available to grassroots community organisations for projects that improve community spaces and places across the UK.

The funding is available through the Asda Foundation’s Investing in Spaces and Places Grant programme, which this year will award grants totalling £1 million. 

The grant criteria will focus on investing in community spaces and places and projects must fall into at least one of the following categories:

  • building repairs
  • building development
  • outdoor development

Improvements could include:

  • roof repairs
  • electrical wiring upgrades
  • a new kitchen
  • improving toilet facilities
  • transforming wasteland into usable space
  • improving access to a community garden

Groups must have an annual income of under £100,000.

Applicants must have raised at least 10% of the project costs at the time of application.

Before applying, interested applicants must register their organisation and upload all required documents to the Asda Foundation grant management system. 

The closing date for applications is 28 July 2024. However, if a large number are received, applications may close earlier.
