Funding to Support Children with Special Education Needs (UK)
Specialist schools, as well as charities, CIOs and other not-for-profit organisations, can apply for funding from the Bernard Sunley Foundation to improve facilities and services that raise the quality of life for people in England and Wales.
The Foundation supports capital projects in community, education, health and social welfare, with particular emphasis on creating opportunities for the young, elderly, disabled and disadvantaged.
Schools may be eligible for projects such as:
- Capital building projects: new constructions, extensions of existing school buildings, or refurbishing/modernising facilities.
- Recreational spaces: such as playgrounds, sports facilities, or outdoor areas for pupils
- Vehicles like minibuses: providing transport which fills a vital need for the institution
Grants are awarded at three levels: small (up to £5,000), medium (up to £20,000) and large (£25,000 and above).
Applications are accepted at any time, with small grants considered monthly and others at Trustees’ meetings.
