Funding to Support Genetic Disorder Charities (UK)

Funding is available for genetic disorder charities working to improve the lives of people affected by genetic conditions in the UK.

The Jeans for Genes Grant Programme offers two levels of funding in 2026:

  • Standard Grants: flexible, unrestricted funding between £3,000 and £5,000 to support core costs, help organisations respond to challenges, and invest in areas that will strengthen their impact
  • “Spotlight Charity” Grants: a pilot programme offering larger grants of up to £10,000 to three ‘spotlight’ charities to work with Jeans for Genes to improve public awareness of genetic conditions.

These grants can be used to cover essential running costs, respond to challenges such as funding pressures, rising demand, or operational difficulties, and invest in work that strengthens an organisation’s impact

To be eligible, applicants must have an annual income of under £1 million, and all grants must be spent within twelve months.

The closing date for applications is the 2nd March 2026.
