Grants of Up to £5,000 Available to Support Armed Forces Communities (UK)

Grants of between £500 and £5,000 are available through the Veterans’ Foundation Small Grants programme for charities and not-for-profit groups supporting the Armed Forces Community. The Veterans’ Foundation supports organisations helping serving personnel, veterans, operationally qualified seafarers and their immediate families.

The programme is aimed mainly at small grassroots groups delivering community-based support, particularly those with low to medium income and those that have not previously received Veterans’ Foundation funding.

Funding can support work addressing needs such as homelessness, employability, financial disadvantage, disability, welfare, mental health, family support and support in older age. Grants must be spent within 12 months.

Applicants must:

  • be registered charities or not-for-profit groups;
  • have annual income of £100,000 or less;
  • directly support eligible Armed Forces beneficiaries;
  • apply no more than once per quarter.

The Foundation will not fund salary costs, but may consider sessional worker costs. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, with decisions expected within around eight weeks of submission.

The next closing date for applications is 30 September 2026.
