Grant News
The Peak District National Park Foundation has launched a new funding round for its Community Nature Fund. The fund offers capital grants ranging from £500 - £5,000 to community projects aimed at enhancing natural spaces.
The fund provides funding for landscape features like trees and ponds, built items such as fencing, and essential equipment and tools. The primary goal is to create, increase, or improve spaces for nature, such as wildflower meadows, hedgerows, and community orchards.
Eligible applicants for the Community Nature Fund include Parish Councils, Community Interest Companies (CICs), charities, constituted voluntary groups, and smallholders with non-profit projects that significantly benefit biodiversity.
Applicants must either own the land or have the landowner's permission. Furthermore, projects should not be receiving funds from other sources like FiPL or Countryside Stewardship and must be located within the National Park boundary. Applications are evaluated based on their biodiversity outcomes and community impact.
To apply, applicants need to obtain quotes for the capital costs and submit a completed application form to hello@peakdistrictfoundation.org.uk
The fund has specific application deadlines on 30 January, 30 April, and 30 September, with decisions made within two weeks of submission.
Although the fund is currently open for applications, applicants are encouraged to check for any updates on the official website. (Link below).
