Grants Available for Community Projects (UK)

Charities, charitable incorporated organisations, and municipally funded museums across the UK can apply for grants of between £10,000 and £25,000 for projects that positively impact local communities.

The funding is made available through the Steel Charitable Trust Rolling Grants programme, which supports a variety of projects and activities that make a real impact in the areas of:

  • arts and heritage
  • education
  • environment
  • health (specifically programmes and activities that aim to support, maintain and improve mental health in any demographic; and health care for older people)
  • social or economic disadvantage (specifically projects focusing on disadvantaged children; and housing and homeless people)

There are no focus areas within the categories of arts and heritage, education, or environment

Funding can be used to cover:

  • core costs
  • capital works
  • specific projects

Awards of more than £25,000 are rare.

Organisations with an annual income of over £50,000 are welcome to apply by the 11th of July, 2024.
