Funding for School Climate & Biodiversity Projects (UK)

Primary and secondary schools in the UK can apply for grants of up to £3,000 to support projects and activities aimed at addressing climate change and biodiversity issues.  The funding is made available through the Royal Society’s Tomorrow's Climate Scientists Programme. This programme is an extension of the Society's Partnership Grants and provides support to schools in their efforts to engage students in addressing critical environmental challenges while promoting STEM education.

To be eligible for these grants, schools must have two project partners. The lead applicant should be a school, and the second partner should be a STEM professional from academia or industry. The primary purpose of the funding is to facilitate the purchase of necessary equipment for these projects.

The Partnership Grants scheme operates on an annual basis and follows a two-stage application process. The application window will open in February 2024, with three possible submission deadlines throughout the year. The next deadline for both stage 1 and stage 2 applications is scheduled for the end of April 2024.
