Grant News
Deaf and Disabled People's Organisations (DDPOs) in Greater London are now able to apply for funding from the Disability Justice Fund Round Two.
There are two strands of funding available:
- development grants of up to £20,000, for new and small organisations
- larger grants for up to £180,000 over a period of 2-3 years.
The fund, which is being delivered by Trust for London in partnership with City Bridge Trust, aims to support DDPOs in their work to advocate for the rights and social justice of Deaf and Disabled people in the capital.
The fund has been introduced in response to the growing poverty, inequality and exclusion faced by Disabled Londoners. Over a third of families with a Disabled person in London are in poverty, and almost half of people living in poverty are either Disabled or living in a household with someone who is Disabled. At the same time, chronic underfunding has been reducing the capacity of DDPOs to mobilise for equal rights and social justice.
Funding can be used for a wide range of activities, including:
- Building the capacity of DDPOs to campaign for change
- Diversifying the disability sector
- Raising awareness of disability issues
- Developing new approaches to advocacy and activism
The application deadline for the Disability Justice Fund is 5pm on the 4th March 2024.
To be eligible for funding, organisations must be:
- Deaf and Disabled People's Organisations (DDPOs)
- Based in Greater London
- Working to promote the rights and social justice of Deaf and Disabled people
