Grant of up to £20,000 Available for River Restoration Projects (London)

Community groups and small charities in Greater London can now apply for grants of up to £20,000 to support volunteer-led river restoration projects and water quality monitoring initiatives.

The grant aims to empower local communities to enhance the health of their local waterways. Eligible projects include small-scale river restoration activities such as creating berms, adding large wood habitats, removing toe-boards, and managing invasive species. Additionally, the grant supports water quality monitoring efforts, enabling citizen scientists to gather crucial data to identify pollution sources and inform remediation strategies.

The funding is being made available through the Thames21 EMPOWER Rivers Community Grant, which is part of a broader £1.75 million initiative funded by the Lund Trust over five years, aiming to transform how communities engage with and improve the health of London's rivers

The deadline for applications in this round of the grant is 10am on the 2nd June 2025.
