The London Catalyst, a charitable organisation that provides grants to support initiatives addressing the health and well-being of vulnerable individuals in London has announced that its Main Grants programme will re-open for applications on the 1st July 2025.
The Main Grants Programme is designed to support organisations with an income of £500,000 or less, focusing on funding new initiatives and service developments that target individuals disadvantaged by long-term ill-health, disability, and poverty. The grant aims to address social determinants of health, with the primary beneficiaries being adults over 18 residing in London (within M25).
Applicants can apply for a maximum grant of £10,000 for one year, with the opportunity for single or multi-year grants up to 3 years.
Previous projectsand activities supported include:
- Mental Health Support Programme: London Catalyst funded a project that established a mental health support programme for young adults in underserved communities, providing counseling services and mental health resources to improve well-being.
- Community Health Clinic Expansion: Through London Catalyst's support, a community health clinic was able to expand its services to reach more residents in need, offering free healthcare consultations, screenings, and health education programmes.
- Homelessness Prevention Initiative: London Catalyst backed a project aimed at preventing homelessness by providing financial assistance, job training, and housing support to individuals facing housing insecurity, leading to sustainable housing solutions and improved livelihoods.
The closing date for applications will be the 15th September 2025.
In addition, the London Catalyst also provides Hardship grants for individuals and a collaborative grants programme that encourages partnership working between health agencies, public and charitable, and community groups (Partners for Health). The Partners for Health programme is currently paused.
