Turning Point Launches Grassroots Fund to Boost Sexual Health and Wellbeing (South London)

Turning Point, in partnership with the Sexual Health and Wellbeing Alliance, has announced a new grassroots funding initiative aimed at strengthening community-led approaches to sexual health across Lambeth, Southwark, and Lewisham.

The Sexual Health and Wellbeing Alliance Grassroots Fund will provide small grants of up to £2,500 to charities and community groups delivering projects that tackle stigma, raise awareness, and promote inclusive wellbeing.

The fund is designed to encourage innovative approaches that reflect the principles of the Five Ways to Wellbeing – connect, be active, take notice, keep learning, and give. Organisers emphasise the importance of projects leaving a sustainable legacy beyond the funding period, ensuring long-term impact for local communities.

Successful projects could include, for example:

  • Community Workshops on Sexual Health Awareness
Local charities hosting interactive sessions to improve knowledge around safe practices, testing, and consent while tackling stigma and misinformation.
  • Peer Support Groups for Young People or LGBTQ+ Communities
Safe spaces that encourage open discussion, reduce isolation, and build confidence around sexual health and wellbeing.
  • Creative Campaigns Promoting the Five Ways to Wellbeing
Arts-based initiatives (such as theatre, music, or digital media) co-designed with local residents to raise awareness, connect communities, and encourage positive health behaviours.

By focusing on sexual health and wellbeing, the initiative aims not only to address health inequalities but also to reduce isolation and strengthen social cohesion in some of London’s most diverse boroughs.

The closing date for applications is the 12 September 2025.
