The Mayor of London has announced that the Renters’ Rights Enforcement Fund is open for applications. The £400,000 Greater London Authority programme will support the implementation of the Renters’ Rights Act and help private renters in London understand and use their new rights.
The three-year programme will provide grants of up to £60,000 per year to up to two organisations delivering free advice and practical assistance to renters. This includes help with issues such as unsafe housing conditions, unfair rent increases, unlawful landlord behaviour and other disputes.
The fund is open to organisations with experience of providing housing advice and support, casework or advocacy support, including those working with London’s diverse communities and delivering services across the capital. Examples include registered charities, CIOs, CICs, social enterprises, not-for-profit organisations, community and voluntary sector organisations, and tenant and resident organisations.
Part of the funding will also be used to train local authority officers on how to enforce the new law.
There is a two-stage application process. Expressions of interest closed on 7 September 2026. Full applications must be submitted by 2 October 2026.
