Grants of up to £100,000 Available to Support Diversity in the Creative Industries (UK)

Amazon has launched the Regional Creatives Fund, a new grant programme designed to support UK charities with proven experience in running training programmes within the creative industries, and help people from underserved communities access careers in creative industries. The initiative aims to drive greater diversity and bring fresh perspectives to sectors including publishing, music, gaming, film, television, fashion, and advertising.

Individual registered charities can apply for grants of up to £30,000, while consortia of charities from the same region working together are eligible for grants of up to £100,000. The funding is intended to expand or sustain existing programmes that upskill individuals from underrepresented backgrounds. Eligible projects may involve hands-on training in areas such as music production, game development, digital skills workshops, portfolio building, and placements in the creative sector.

In addition to financial support, successful applicants will receive pro-bono opportunities for mentoring, work experience, and digital training with professionals from Amazon divisions including Amazon Music, Prime Video, and Amazon Games. This additional industry support is intended to strengthen the impact of supported programmes further and enhance participants’ pathways into creative careers.

Applications will be assessed by an independent panel comprising representatives from Amazon, the National Theatre, Arts Council England, and other cultural bodies. The panel will assess proposals based on five key criteria: a clear and creative purpose, real-world impact through access and skills development, practical and achievable plans, the amplification of underrepresented voices, and the potential to build upon and strengthen existing effective initiatives.

Charities must demonstrate that their proposed projects will help expand, scale, or continue impactful work, with a focus on bringing more diverse talent into creative industries. Programmes already delivering tangible results and offering clear routes into employment and creative opportunities will be prioritised.

The closing date for applications is 31st August 2025.
