Bristol Groups Invited to Apply for Recovery Social Action Funding (South West)

Bristol City Council has announced that the Sparking Social Action in Recovery Grant is now open for applications. The programme is administered through Quartet Community Foundation, a charity that supports philanthropy and distributes funding to communities across the West of England.

Grants of up to £10,000 are available to support social action led by people with lived experience of drug and alcohol use and recovery in Bristol. The funding aims to improve the lives of local people, particularly those in recovery, by strengthening social connections and community cohesion.

Applicants must be based and working in the Bristol City Council local authority area. Eligible organisations include:

  • constituted voluntary or community organisations;
  • registered charities;
  • not-for-profit companies, including CICs where most directors are unpaid.

Small groups or individuals with lived experience of recovery can apply through a charitable host organisation. Activities must be led by, designed by, or co-designed with people with lived experience of drug and alcohol use and recovery services in Bristol.

Grants of up to £5,000 are available for projects lasting up to one year. Grants of up to £10,000 may support two-year projects or expansion of existing activities, subject to available funds. Applications close at 11am on 22 July 2026, with decisions expected within eight weeks.
