Grant News
National charity Independent Age has announced the second round of its Older People’s Fund, offering £1.2 million in grants to charities tackling financial hardship among older people, with a particular focus on those in the Private Rented Sector.
Building on a successful first round in 2024, the scheme will fund projects that align with one or more key themes:
- boosting older people’s income through access to benefits such as Pension Credit and Attendance Allowance;
- reducing costs by tackling unfair charges and raising awareness of savings such as energy social tariffs;
- and improving housing security through repairs, adaptations, homelessness prevention, and advice.
Funding is restricted to charities operating in specific high-need areas: Blackpool and Wyre (Lancashire), East Lindsey (Lincolnshire), Hastings (East Sussex), Thanet (Kent), Torbay (Devon), and Rhyl (Denbighshire, Wales), as well as across England more widely.
Eligible organisations must first submit an Expression of Interest by 2pm, Thursday 28 August 2025. Those shortlisted will be invited to submit full applications by early October, with final decisions due by December 2025.
