Grants of up to £500,000 Available for Community Projects Aiming to Tackle Inequality and Poor Health (Scotland)

Not for profit organisations in Scotland can apply for grants of £20,001 to £500,000 for local projects (lasting up to five years) designed to support children, young people and families, or to improve access to health and wellbeing through the Fairer Life Chances programme delivered by The National Lottery Community Fund.

Projects should deliver one of two outcomes:

  • Children, young people and families thrive, or
  • Improved relationships, connections or mental/physical health

Examples of fundable activities might include community-based family support hubs, peer‑led mental health networks, outreach services for care-experienced young people, or specialist support groups for isolated carers. Organisations are encouraged to use the skills and lived experience of service users in design and delivery, and to link with complementary services locally

Eligible applicants include voluntary or community organisations and public sector bodies based in Scotland; projects must serve people experiencing poverty, disadvantage or discrimination, and should be co-designed and led by those communities

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis,

Most grants are expected to fall under £250,000, although applications up to £500,000 are possible. Clear plans for measuring impact and reaching underserved communities are essential.
