Funding to Fight Racial & Social Injustice (UK & Ireland)

Grants of up to £1,000 are available to small local grassroots organisations fighting social injustice and inequality across the UK and Ireland.

The funding is being made available through the Edge Fund, established to support radical political activities, such as protests.

The Edge Fund’s latest Roots Funding round will support small grassroots groups in the UK and Ireland organising against Islamophobia, Afriphobia, racial injustice, and the legacies of British colonialism in the UK and Ireland.

To be eligible, organisations must:

  • have an annual income of less than £5,000
  • be led by the communities they serve
  • be committed to creating long-term societal change by addressing the root causes of injustice and inequality

The Fund prioritises groups that struggle to secure funding elsewhere, particularly those considered “too radical.”

A total of 40 grants will be awarded.

Applications open on the 15th of October 2025. The fund will close on the 2nd of November 2025, or once 100 applications are received, whichever comes first.
