Funding to Support to Support School Music Projects (UK)

The UK music charity Music For All has opened its fifth funding round for 2025, inviting schools across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland to apply for support that enhances music education and access.

Funding is available for schools in deprived or marginalised areas seeking to develop music-making opportunities for pupils who might otherwise miss out. Schools can apply for Community Project Awards of up to £1,500 to purchase instruments, fund workshops or create inclusive music programmes.

In addition, specific awards provide half-size classical guitars (up to 30 instruments) and descant recorder packs (up to 60 recorders) for schools with limited resources.

Schools running after-school clubs or music technology initiatives may also apply for grants of £1,000–£6,000, covering equipment such as studio software, audio interfaces, instruments or mentoring support for students.

Applications must be submitted by 12 noon on Wednesday, 14 January 2026, with witness statement forms due by 12 noon on Friday, 16 January 2026.

Examples of eligible projects include (but are not limited to) school bands or choirs in low-income areas, classroom-based music therapy for children with special educational needs, and recording or songwriting workshops that inspire young musicians.

The scheme is funded by Music For All under its 2025 Award Round 5 programme.
