Grants of up to £10,000 are available to support the development of skills for UK based researchers in the humanities and social sciences who wish to experiment with new research methods.
The British Academy’s Talent Development Awards Scheme aims to benefit the career, skills and talent of award-holders and, as a result, to contribute to the development and delivery of high-quality regional, national and international research in core areas like quantitative skills, interdisciplinary studies, data science, digital humanities and languages.
Funding can be used to cover costs such as:
- travel and maintenance away from home
- employing teaching and research assistants
- hosting workshops or conferences
- travel and accommodation costs of visiting teachers and speakers
- short-term consultancy or salary costs of expert staff
- tuition fees for accredited short courses
- specialist software and consumables (i.e. datasets, photocopies, microfilms, etc.)
Applications are accepted from postdoctoral scholars who have a long-term appointment at a UK university or research institution.
The deadline for applications is 5pm on the 11th September 2024.
