Funding to Tackle Loneliness & Isolation Among Blind & Partially Sighted People (UK)
Fight for Sight, a UK-based charity dedicated to funding pioneering research to prevent sight loss and treat eye disease has announced that the next round of its Social Change Fund has re-opened for applications.
Grants of up to £30,000 will be available to sight loss organisations supporting blind and vision impaired people. These include:
- Registered charities
- Registered Charitable Incorporated Organisations (CIO)
- Charitable companies, limited by guarantee
- Community Interest Companies (CIC), limited by guarantee
- Exempt charities (e.g. educational establishments)
This funding round focuses on projects designed to reduce loneliness and/or isolation experienced by blind and partially sighted people throughout the UK.
The Charity is keen to fund projects that have a sustainable impact at three levels:
- Individual: projects and programmes that make a positive difference to people who are blind and vision impaired
- Sector: build partnerships and connections that improve the resilience of community organisations to step up for blind and vision impaired people
- Societal/systems: commission research into what it means to be blind or vision impaired. Projects are encouraged to report impact to share with others seeking to drive change
The deadline for applications is 11:59PM, Monday 14 October, 2024.
