Funding to Support Creative Public Engagement with Engineering (UK)

The Royal Academy of Engineering has announced a new round of its Ingenious Awards scheme. Grants of between £3,000 and £30,000 are available to support creative projects that engage the public with engineering.

Applications are welcome from individuals and organisations interested in public engagement with engineering, including:

  • engineers
  • universities
  • colleges and schools
  • youth charities
  • science and engineering communicators
  • public engagement professionals
  • people working in the arts and cultural sectors

Priority will be given to projects that engage diverse audiences, particularly groups that are underrepresented in engineering. This includes communities in some of the UK’s most deprived neighbourhoods.

Projects should involve engineers and participants from a range of genders, ages and ethnic backgrounds.

The deadline for applications is 4pm on 23 September 2026.
