The GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Community Health Programme is currently open for applications from small registered charities tackling health inequalities in the UK. The programme is run by GSK in partnership with The King’s Fund, an independent charity working to improve health and care in England.
Up to 10 charities will receive up to £10,000 in unrestricted funding, plus access to a leadership development programme valued at £5,000 per place. The programme aims to support small charities working with disadvantaged communities and to help their leaders build confidence, resilience and strategic capability.
The types of projects supported could include:
- setting up services or access points within the community;
- working with public sector providers to remove barriers to access;
- helping people register with a GP or access mental health support;
- providing health and wellbeing services;
- increasing uptake of screening services;
- supporting healthier lifestyles;
- targeted work with marginalised or underserved communities.
Applicants must:
- be registered charities working, located and registered in the UK;
- have annual income between £20,000 and £150,000;
- have existed for at least one year by the deadline;
- be independently constituted from any national umbrella organisation;
- demonstrate how they tackle health inequalities in their community.
Organisations led by and supporting under-represented groups, including ethnic minority communities, disabled people and LGBTQ+ communities, are particularly encouraged to apply.
Applications are made through an online form. The deadline is 5pm on 10 August 2026, with decisions expected by mid-October 2026.
Organisations with an income above £150,000 may be eligible to apply for the GSK IMPACT Awards.
