Grants of £100,000 to £250,000 are available through the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust’s Free From Fear programme for two-year projects addressing domestic abuse in armed forces communities.
The Trust is an independent charity managing grant programmes that support armed forces communities across the UK.
Projects must address at least one of the following outcomes:
- Improve access to support and help victim-survivors recognise and report domestic abuse.
- Encourage perpetrators to acknowledge their behaviour, take responsibility and engage with opportunities for change.
- Prevent domestic abuse by addressing current and emerging challenges.
- Improve services to meet the evolving needs of victim-survivors.
Projects may also provide tailored support for people facing additional barriers, stigma or marginalisation, or involve formal partnerships that improve their quality, reach and effectiveness.
Applications are open to registered charities with relevant domestic abuse experience. Charities without experience of supporting armed forces communities must partner with an organisation that has this expertise.
Local and combined authorities may also apply. They must work with specialist organisations and demonstrate that the proposed activities are additional to their statutory duties.
The application deadline is 12 noon on 23 September 2026.
