Funding Available to Support Veterans and Families (UK)

The Forces in Mind Trust is accepting applications from not-for-profit organisations for projects that support ex-Service personnel and their families as they move into civilian life in the UK.

The Trust is a grant-making charity funded by The National Lottery Community Fund, working to help former members of the Armed Forces make a successful and sustainable transition.

Funding is available for work that benefits serving personnel, veterans or their families and delivers direct impact in the UK. Eligible applicants range from small community groups and charities to larger institutions such as universities. Grant amounts are not specified.

Projects should support one or more of the Trust’s priority outcomes under its Housing, Employment, Health, Finance, Criminal Justice, Relationships and Enabler programmes.

Current priorities include understanding the impact of Service life on families, responding to the changing needs of the Armed Forces community, improving collaboration and strengthening awareness of Armed Forces issues in mainstream services.

The Trust will not normally fund capital costs, ongoing costs for established projects, retrospective activity, general fundraising appeals, statutory replacement funding or grants to individuals.

Applications follow a two-stage process. Initial enquiries can be submitted at any time. Shortlisted applicants are invited to submit a full application.
