Grants Available for Black History Month Activities (Greater Manchester)

Community groups and grassroots organisations in Greater Manchester can apply for grants of up to £500 to support activities taking place during Black History Month in October.

The Greater Manchester Black History Month 2026 Community Micro-Grants programme is delivered by the Caribbean and African Health Network, in partnership with the Greater Manchester Combined Authority and the Greater Manchester Race Equality Panel.

Centred around this year’s theme, ‘Honouring Our Communities’, the initiative celebrates the achievements, history, and culture of Black communities.

Funding can be used for local events and activities, including:

  • cultural and heritage projects
  • storytelling and education
  • wellbeing activities
  • community dialogue and celebration

Applications are particularly encouraged from smaller Black-led grassroots organisations, informal groups, cultural and creative groups, youth initiatives and other community-led groups.

Applications close at 12pm on 4 September 2026.
