Migrant Destitution Fund Reopens for Applications (Greater Manchester)

The Greater Manchester Migrant Destitution Fund has reopened, providing monthly cash grants to people forced into destitution because of their immigration status. The fund is administered by Manchester Community Central and works with frontline organisations across Greater Manchester.

Support is aimed at people with no leave to remain, including refused asylum seekers or people whose leave has lapsed, who have no right to work or access public funds and are not receiving Home Office asylum support or equivalent financial assistance elsewhere.

Key highlights:

  • Greater Manchester only
  • £80 cash grant once a month
  • Individuals cannot apply directly
  • Applications must be made through an approved referral partner
  • Community organisations supporting destitute people can apply to become referral partners.

Key points: The grants help meet basic needs and support wellbeing. No deadline is specified, but the fund does not currently have enough funding to remain open throughout the year.
