Scotmid’s Community Grant Scheme (Scotland)

The Scotmid Co-operative offers small grants of up to £500 to support community projects and initiatives in areas where Scotmid Co-operative stores operate.

Last year, Scotmid awarded a total of £235,000 in grants to organisations ranging from parent and toddler groups to national campaigns.

Funding focuses on the following areas:

  • Active lifestyles and healthy ageing

  • Arts, culture, and heritage

  • Charity and volunteering

  • Children, youth, and families

  • Community-led innovation

  • Sustainability and the environment

  • Social impact and ethical practices

  • Health, wellbeing, and mental resilience

  • Equity and inclusion

  • Tech and digital inclusion

To be eligible, applicants must be a group or an individual acting for the wider benefit of the local community and must live within the geographic boundaries of one of the Scotmid Regional Committees.

Schools are also eligible to apply for funding for activities that fall outside their statutory responsibilities. This may include, for example, running a breakfast club.

Applications must be submitted at least 12 weeks before the funding is needed.
