Funding Available to Tackle Social Isolation and Loneliness (Scotland)

A new £3.8 million fund has been launched to combat social isolation and loneliness in communities across Scotland. The Social Isolation and Loneliness Fund will provide vital, long-term support for organisations and projects working to bring people together and build connections in communities throughout the country.

There are some groups who are identified as being most at risk.   These groups will be prioritised.

  • young people (aged 16-24)
  • disabled people
  • people with a mental health condition
  • older people (aged 75+)
  • people living in areas of deprivation or on a low income

There is no income requirement to apply for the fund, but it is expected that about 70% of the funding will be allocated to smaller community organisations with an annual income of less than £500,000.

There is a two-stage application process.  The deadline for submitting an Expression of Interest is the 31st March 2023. Applicants successful at this stage will be invited to submit a full application.
