Funding to Support Legal Action to Tackle Racial Injustice in the Criminal Justice System (North of England)

Grants of up to £50,000 are available for charities and other not-for-profit organisations in the North of England undertaking legal work to address racial injustice in the criminal justice system (CJS).

The Baring Foundation’s Strengthening Civil Society programme will support work that engages with all aspects of the CJS: policing, courts, prisons, and the probation service.

Funding can be used for all activities related to legal action, including staff time, supervision and overheads. It can also cover external costs, such as campaigning and communications costs.

Applicants should contact the Foundation by the 13th April 2023 to discuss eligibility. Applicants will then have until the 25th April 2023 to submit an application.
