Local charities that provide community spaces can apply for grants up to £8,000 to enhance community facilities and ensure that they remain viable community resources. The funding is being made available through the Morrisons Foundation's Community Spaces Fund, which was introduced to mark Morrisons' 125th anniversary.

A total of £1 million is available, and 125 charities will be funded.

Eligible uses for the grant include funding new equipment, renovating, or creating new spaces that have a lasting impact. However, the grant cannot be used for salaries, utility bills, or administrative costs.

To apply, charities must be registered with the Charity Commission in England and Wales or the Office of Scottish Charity Regulator, have submitted accounts for the past three years in a timely manner, and be recommended by a local Morrisons Community Champion. Applications must be submitted by the 14th July 2024.
