Competition to Support High-Growth Entrepreneurs (Scotland)
Applications are now open for Scottish EDGE, a funding competition supporting Scotland's top young, early stage and high growth potential entrepreneurs.
The competition aims to identify and support innovative, high-growth potential entrepreneurial talent, and has been funded by the Hunter Foundation, Royal Bank of Scotland, Scottish Government, Scottish Enterprise, and private donors. To date, they have supported 569 early-stage Scottish businesses with over £25m in award funding.
The competition offers four main categories:
- Scottish EDGE: For early-stage companies/social enterprises across all sectors, offering funding up to £100,000 on a split grant/loan basis
- Young EDGE: For companies where all directors are under 30, offering a grant-only award up to £10,000
- Wild Card EDGE: For pre-trading companies, sole-traders, and partnerships, offering a grant-only award up to £15,000
- Social Enterprise EDGE: For social enterprises demonstrating community enrichment, offering funding up to £75,000 on a split grant/loan basis
Within the Scottish EDGE category, there are also special awards for:
- Net Zero EDGE
- Circular Economy EDGE
- STV Growth EDGE
- Food and Drink EDGE
The application process involves:
- Completing the Scottish EDGE Online Application Form
- Producing a 3-minute video pitch
The closing date for applications is 2pm on the 27th February 2025.
