Grants of up to £5,000 For Organisations that Support Women and Girls (Scotland)

The Women’s Fund for Scotland (WFS) has launched a new round of grants, offering up to £5,000 to not-for-profit organisations that support women and girls aged 12 and over. The fund aims to drive systemic change, tackle discrimination, and address the multiple disadvantages women face throughout their lives.

A total of £100,000 is available, and applicants can request either unrestricted core funding or project-specific funding (covering at least 25% of project costs). Priority will go to women’s organisations, grassroots groups, and initiatives focused on disadvantaged women, survivors of abuse, or projects aligned with WFS’s three core themes:

  • Thrive – Building Confidence and Skills: Empowerment initiatives, education and employment support, and programmes that boost financial independence.
  • Heal – Supporting Recovery and Wellbeing: Services for survivors of abuse, tailored mental health programmes, peer support and anti-isolation initiatives.
  • Rise – Creating Change and Empowerment: Advocacy and campaigning projects, efforts to challenge stereotypes, and leadership programmes that amplify women’s voices.

Eligible applicants include charities, social enterprises, and unincorporated groups with an annual turnover below £500,000 (preferably under £300,000). The fund does not support mixed-sex groups, permanent staff salaries, previous activities, overseas trips, general fundraising, or religious and political activity.

Since its inception, WFS has awarded over 1,000 grants worth £3.4 million to more than 700 organisations. The deadline for applications is 17 November 2025, with funding decisions expected by February 2026.
