Grant News
The Scottish Government has launched a new round of the Child Poverty Practice Accelerator Fund, offering over £1.8 million to support projects that tackle child poverty.
The fund will support small scale projects to generate evidence on a known problem, adapt a promising approach from elsewhere, or re-design a service or services to deliver greater impact on child poverty.
Grants of up to £100,000 over two years are available to local authorities and health boards to trial or improve services that increase household income, reduce living costs, or increase benefit uptake.
There are six known household types that are at the greatest risk of child poverty:
- lone parent households
- minority ethnic households
- households with 3 or more children
- households with a baby under 1
- households where an adult or child is disabled
- households with a mother under 25
The fund encourages evidence-led, innovative approaches and collaboration with third-sector partners to help deliver long-term, effective change.
Over £1.4 million has already been invested to support 21 projects across Scotland over the first two rounds of the fund.
Previous grants have been used to enhance data usage for identifying families who need support, improve access to financial advice services, and support parents in engaging with employability services.
Applications are open until the 21st November 2025.
